Feast in the Kitchen, Chefs Meeting to Discuss Menu, Summer, Bridgehampton

Just finished wrapping up an amazing meeting with our chefs for Feast in the Kitchen culinary classes happening July 8-12 in the Hamptons, right in the heart of Bridgehampton.

For our pasta workshop day we decided that students will make dough from scratch and that a Bolognese sauce would be best for the adult class. We debated if there was time to make pesto and other sauces, but ended up deciding on the Bolognese considering how much time we have for class that day.  For the Adult French Bistro night we talked about the what would be the best cut of steak for the Steak Frites (Filet Mignon or NY Strip), and how the potatoes had to be baked beforehand in order to make the fries authentic.....very cool!

Feast in the Kitchen in the Hamptons will be an afternoon elective for teens and tweens from 3:15-5:15 pm, M-F, for our students 10-18 (middle school and high school).  Adult cooking classes will be from 6:30-8 pm.  Adults can register on a per class basis or for the entire week.

Check out our Amazing Menu for the Week, July 8-12 in Bridgehampton.

Summer Cooking Classes in the Hamptons for Kids, Teens, and Adults

Yesterday, I had a great meeting with our chefs in Bridgehampton where we discussed various recipes we will dive into in our cooking classes, Feast in the Kitchen, in the Hamptons this summer! Our cooking classes will emphasize cooking dishes from scratch, and also using fresh, local ingredients from local farms.

We talked about the importance of quality and how every dish must be authentic to its roots. We brainstormed meals from Italy, France, Brazil, Vietnam, and more. Where does this dish come from? What is its history? How has it evolved or not evolved over time? In addition to creating the meals in our cooking class, it’s important to have a wholistic understanding of the food we are making. Stay tuned as we announce our recipes for Feast in the Kitchen cooking camp in the coming days!
